Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – A job fair and lifestyle events topbilled the opening of the 2023 Baragatan Festival on Saturday, June 17.
The job fair, which was held at the Puerto Princesa City Hall, was attended by over 1,000 job seekers. A total of 50 companies participated in the fair, offering a variety of job opportunities in the tourism, hospitality, and other industries.
The lifestyle events, which were held at the Palawan State University’s Multi-Purpose Center, featured a variety of activities, including a fashion show, a food festival, and a trade fair.
The Baragatan Festival is a week-long celebration of Palawan’s culture and tourism. The festival is held every June to commemorate the founding of Puerto Princesa City.
Other activities lined up for the festival include a street dancing competition, a fluvial parade, and a fireworks display.
The festival is expected to attract thousands of visitors to Palawan.
“We are expecting a big turnout for this year’s festival,” said Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez. “We are confident that the festival will boost our tourism industry and help us achieve our goal of making Palawan the premier tourist destination in the country.”
