In 2021, after a year off, Download Festival returned for a smaller pilot event, but in 2022, the mammoth event returns in full bloom, with legendary rockers KISS and Iron Maiden joining Biffy Clyro as the headliners and a huge number of other bands across the entire spectrum of rock playing across 3 days. Add to that comedy, cinema, live podcast performances, and pre-show musical events on-site and it’s everything rock fans have missed for the past few years.

With Download Festival 2022 coming up hot on the calendar, it’s time to look forward to the huge event. Here’s which bands are playing and on what days, information on accessibility changes, and how you can stream the event.

Kiss, Iron Maiden and Scotland’s Biffy Clyro are headlining Download Festival 2022, and you can check out the full line-up poster at Download’s website. The 3-day festival line-up includes the following, among a huge number of bands:

Friday: KISS, A Day To Remember, Black Veil Brides, Bury Tomorrow, Theory, Wayward Sons, The Distillers, Airbourne, Lacuna Coil, Myles Kennedy & Company, and Electric Wizard.

Saturday: Iron Maiden, Deftones, Shinedown, The Pretty Reckless, Black Label Society, Monster Truck, Those Damn Crows, The Raven Age, Megadeth, Mastodon, Daughtry, Bush, Code Orange, Funeral for a Friend, Creeper, and Sepultura.

The biggest change for 2022’s Download Festival attendees after last year’s pilot event is the change to the site map. In the name of lessening their ecological footprint and improving accessibility, Download’s team have flipped the map, introducing a new East Car Park, a new location for the transport hub and, crucially, moving the village closer to the arena and making all paths from the entrance to the Village hard ground. The arena itself remains in its usual position.
